WHAT ARE CLASSES LIKE?
Classes at our studio are very relaxed and non-intimidating. Unlike most studios where they try to jam as many women in the room as possible, at SkyPole its very different. You don't have to worry about sharing a pole or bumping into another student. All of the students and instructors are super supportive and encouraging of one another.
The classes themselves are for all levels. There's no pressure to perform particular moves if you aren't there yet. The focus is to give you an intense workout that will not only burn calories, but also help you gain strength and confidence. We guarantee SkyPole classes will be the best workout you've ever had and definitely the most fun!
WHAT DO I WEAR?
First, lets talk about what you NEVER wear--lotion, oils, & moisturizers are a No No. You will not stick to the pole if you are wearing any type of moisturizer. Next, it's important to read the class description before coming for the first time. We give you info on what to wear and expect in the class descriptions. The descriptions are in the Class Schedule. As a general rule, the less clothing the better when poling, but wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Although shorts, tank tops, sports bras, etc. are recommended, if you feel more comfortable in sweats and a T-Shirt that's fine too! You can always bring extra clothes to change into once you arrive. Bring dark socks to every class.
WILL I LOSE WEIGHT?
Pole dancing can absolutely help you lose weight. Poling utilizes all the major muscles in your body. It's a fantastic way to strength train and perform cardio at the same time. On average, during a one-hour pole class you will burn anywhere from 400-8oo calories. Not only can you lose weight, you'll also gain flexibility and tone your muscles. The best part about it all is that unlike the boring gym, it's so much fun!
BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DANCE......
You can have two left feet and still come to class. We TEACH you how to dance! There's so much more to pole fitness than dancing; our classes allow you to gain flexibility, lose weight, and build a connection not just with those around you--but with yourself.
You don't need confidence or strength to come to our classes...... that's what you leave with.
